Chapter 30. Confession

Adam heard a knock on the door. It was still early in the morning. He couldn’t sleep last night, so he came to his father’s room. He was sitting on a chair beside his father’s bed when he heard the knock.

“You can come in.”

Mrs. Sally opened the door and entered quietly without making any noise. Adam stood up immediately.

“Is she okay?” Adam asked anxiously.

“Yes, Master. She’s fine and awake now but she still doesn’t have any energy to move.”

“Can I see her?”

“Yes Master, I’m here to inform you that she asked for you.”

Adam’s eyes were wide open, Mariah finally woke up. So many emotions flooded Adam’s heart. There was so much to say and listen but he decided now was not the right time.

Mariah wasn’t able to move since her body ached, Ivan and the accident left some serious swelling and bruises on her body. Mariah noticed that she was in Adam’s room and someone had changed her clothes.
