Chapter 141

I walked into the nearest bookstore and looked around. It was easy to find my book there. Luckily, the bookstore was empty and the person behind the counter was sleeping when I walked up to her.

"Hi," I woke her up with a light tap.

She sat up and rubbed her face, then looked around to see if I was alone, I think, before answering me.

"Yeah, how may I help you?"

"I'm going to take this one..." I trailed and placed my book on the counter in front of her.

She took the book from me, looked at me strangely, and I just prayed she didn't recognise me, but she did almost instantly after I gave her the book.

"I know you!" She shrieked.

"Maybe," I chuckled.

"Oh my God, I love your book."

"Thank you." I smiled.

"I wanted to go to the signing, I heard it was a few days ago, but my boss won't let me have a day off."
