Chapter 145
"I see it's important, Mrs Walle's proposal..." I have a witty reply. He squinted his eyes at me, then chuckled, surprisingly.
"You're drunk," He deduced, it sure as hell didn't sound like a question.
"I'm not," I defended, walking faster and away from him.
"The party only started about an hour ago or so, how did you get drunk so soon?"
I stopped and turned to him, appalled. Was he teasing me?
"I was at the party earlier than everyone else." I caught myself defending.
"Still not enough reason to be drunk by 9pm." He shoved his hands in his pockets and joined me again.
The air around us suddenly got windy, messing my hair and making me cold all over again. Uche sighed and went and stood in front of me, blocking most of the wind coming in my direction.
The wind didn't spare his hair. The long, wavy strands of his hair flew around in his face while he just stared at me, probably waiting for me to say something. So, I did.
