"Sir," His assistant turned to him.

"Change of plans. Cancel the meeting, let me see her." He told her and she nodded before smiling at me and stepping away from the door so her boss could walk in.

Uche walked in and stopped right next to his assistant to look at me. His eyes studiously swept through me. I swallowed and got on my feet, getting nervous all over again, and my hands were clammy.

"What date do I reschedule the meeting for, sir?" His assistant drew his eyes away from me.

"Anytime. Anytime is okay, Mary. You can leave." He dismissed her.

"Okay, sir." She said and left, closing the door behind her.

Uche sighed and turned towards his desk like he didn't just peel off my skin with his eyes. He walked to his table while I just watched. Something about his steps seemed proud.

He got to his table but didn't sit, rather, he pulled a part of the wall near his desk open and got out a bottle of water from the many bottles I saw before the w
