Chapter 144
I walked down the hallway, trying to find my way back to the party, but then I saw one of the waitresses going out through the back. She opened the door and realised it was the back door.
It was just perfect. I could leave without having to return to the party. I couldn't have anyone see me the way I was looking now. I opened the door when I got to it and saw the waitress who had left smoking outside by the shrubs.
She turned around and held her chest, startled to see me. "Sorry," I thought I should apologise.
I followed the tall streetlights down the road and realised I didn't know where I was headed. I sighed and took out my phone to call Pearl to send a ride for me through the agency's wallet but her number didn't go through.
Tired and a little frustrated, I turned around and headed back in the direction I came from, the direction of the party, but I became too tired to walk, so I just sat by the pavement and dialled Pearl again. It went to voicemail.
