Chapter 111. Automatic SOS
The genuine fear in Theodore was unmistakable. Hubert felt every muscle tense against his body. So, he could be frightened, thought Hubert silently. Reiterating his initial query with evident frustration:
"Answer me. Why did you act that way then? Transferring energy to me didn’t deplete yours that much, did it?"
"Hubert…"
Theodore reached out, his fingers caressing Hubert’s arm. His voice quivered, embarrassed. He had never comforted someone before, and confronting an aggrieved Hubert left him floundering. He earnestly explained:
"I was merely concerned for you. If I ever lost control, I wanted to ensure you could escape my pursuit. Hubert… do you realize, upon regaining my senses and seeing you terrified before me, how frightened I was for you?"
Tears threatened Theodore’s eyes as he gently kissed Hubert’s hair, savoring the familiar scent. It wasn’t the moment for such indulgences, yet holding Hubert close, all he wished
