Chapter 18. Another Date
“Apa,” I whispered.
“Mei, eat your food,” Mom ordered.
I looked at dad but he wasn’t looking my way. “Apa, I am sorry,” I said.
“Mei eat your food,” Dad said this time. I nodded and stuffed a piece of meat in my mouth.
I stared at the spaghetti in my plates and played around with it. I had lost my appetite, all I wanted to do now was go back to my room. The last time I got scolded by my parents I was ten and I tore my dress while playing in the garden.
“You can go have your dinner in your room,” Dad excused.
I shook my head and remained seated. “I will eat here, don’t worry about me,” I said and ate a spoonful of spaghetti. “It’s delicious,” I said.
Dad nodded and I forced a smile on my face. The atmosphere was making it so hard for me to swallow but I had to. I forced the food down my throat, and wrapped spaghetti around my fork going for another spoonful.
“Mei if you want to go to your room, you can leave,” Dad offered but I rejected
