Chapter 9. The Old Lady
Today is Saturday. Emma doesn't have any college classes or shifts at the cinema.
Half an hour ago, Tom called Emma to inform her that he would pick her up shortly to take her to the Jonas family home.
"Don't forget to dress up nicely," Tom said before ending the phone call.
Dress up nicely? How could she? Emma's best outfit was just a pair of jeans and a shirt. She had been rummaging through her wardrobe to find the most suitable shirt to meet her future grandmother-in-law.
Emma had heard a bit about Andrew's parents who passed away ten years ago. Tom briefly mentioned it when he called earlier.
The girl settled on black jeans and a black checkered shirt. She wore a white tank top and used the shirt as an outer layer. Emma then rummaged through her bag and found some makeup items borrowed from Sally.
