Chapter 30. The Silent Observer (1)
The man standing before them was of average height, with a lean, athletic build. At first sight, he seemed like any other ordinary man, dressed in casual clothing and having a normal posture, if it weren’t for the sheathed sword that was attached to his hip.
He had short dark hair that was neatly trimmed, and his steel-gray eyes were devoid of emotion. He appeared to be in his late twenties, near Cassy’s age.
“So you’re… the one sent by the Councils?” Cassy asked.
The man nodded. “My name is Ethan. I was appointed by the joint council to serve as the observer of your situation. Please don’t mind me. I’ll only be staying nearby. I’m here to observe, not interfere. You won’t notice me unless necessary.”
