Chapter 36. Need Her

Rhys POV

As if planned, my door was pushed open by Tilly as soon as Venus left my presence. Tilly rarely entered my room without knocking, and I immediately saw urgency glint in her terrified eyes. What could have happened?

“Tilly...” I started to say when she crumbled into a chair, holding her head. It must be more serious than I thought. She might be old, but she was a tough nut to crack. It took a lot to scare Tilly, and she was scared now.

“It’s... it’s... oh, Rhys! I don’t know how to say this!”

My concern was slowly turning to frustrated curiosity. My fists curled and uncurled subconsciously. Who had upset my mother figure this much? Someone was clearly asking for a broken limb if they had the guts to mess with someone I cared about.

“Tell me whom I have to kill, Tilly.”
