He stood unmoved and crossed his arms on his chest, looking down at me.
Curse my lack of height. It was hard to be intimidating when you were shorter than your opponent.
"Or what? What would you do? You already promised me you would never leave," he reminded me cheekily.
"Don't believe everything a woman says at the height of arousal. You said I was not a prisoner, meaning by implication, that I can leave anytime I wish to. Or does the Alpha King have no regard for his words?"
I had him where I wanted him and he knew it too. He growled, realizing that he had trapped himself with his own words. He pinched the bridge of his nose, probably thinking up a counterattack.
He dropped his hands and exposed me to the full effect of his mesmerizing naked body. His crafty eyes were pinned on me and I tried not to fidget. I had nothing to be afraid of.
"Before you storm off, you owe me a story."
