"I will be right out, Mars. Tell Tilly to relax," I spoke into my phone as I went down the stairs. I had not realized how long I had been gone. Tilly had pressurized Marshall to find out what was going on and he called me at once.

After changing, I had stood at my window, overseeing the plains of Plum Paradise. I was surrounded by people who loved me but I still felt alone. Lost in my thoughts, twenty minutes had flown by.

Venus was not where I expected her to be and I paused on the last stair, my ears trying to pick up her voice. I could smell her because she was almost a part of the palace now but I could not see her.

Where had she gone? Had something happened while I was in my room? Czar stood at alert, sensing that something was wrong.
