I woke up alone in Rhys' room with no idea where he was. It was the last day of the Peace Week celebrations and the sun was up. After our late night confessions, we ran out of words and fell asleep in each other's arms.

He had neither rejected nor accepted me as his mate. It should have meant that he was pondering on it. I had not expected him to be overjoyed by the news yet the silence was worse.
