The next morning came earlier than I wanted it to. The previous night had been terrible and I had even gone to the extent of taking my recommended sleeping pills. They had worked, forcing me into an unnatural sleep but they could not protect me from the nightmares.
They could not protect me from the guilt that ate up with every breath I took.
How could I have singlehandedly destroyed my only chance at happiness?
