Chapter 93. Not All That Different

I found Felicity in the stable, wearing studded boots with one hand and holding a book with the other. It brought a smile to my lips when I thought of how simple she was in reality. She cared less about becoming Luna or sharing Rhys' bed. She just wanted her freedom to read her books and be independent.
"Hey, I didn't see you there," she said when she saw me standing by the entrance of the stable. "How's your recovery going?"
I pushed off the doorframe, stepping inside and scrutinizing the environment. The stable was big and warm, with a wall of opened windows. It was neither too hot or too cold and the stench of waste filled the air.
"So you heard then?"
"I did," she admitted, closing her book and focused on tying her laces. "How is the King taking it?"
