Chapter 19. Fate

Rose’s POV

The manager was giving me a hard day. It had been almost a month since I got back from Germany, and my life hadn’t been the same ever since. For some reason, I now had way more work to do and way more inventory to keep.

Florence was doing all she could to help me. At some point, when Florence had gotten sick, I felt like I was going to pass out from the stress because she wasn’t available to assist me. I tried not to ask for so much help from her because I didn’t want to be a burden, but I just couldn’t do everything by myself.

I felt like I had been picked out by the manager. He liked to say how he gave more work to the employee he loved the most and hoped to promote someday, but it didn’t seem like that anymore. I was worn out, and I just wanted to rest.

Today, I worked even harder to get all my work done so I could have enough sleep before the next day. Thankfully, the manager wasn’t around to add more to my work when it seemed like I was
