Chapter 24. Employer Criminal

Rose’s POV

I literally stumbled back to the store room. My vision was blurred with tears. I prayed inside of me that Florence was somewhere nearby. I prayed with all my strength that she would find me before I found her. I didn’t even care that the workers would see me this way, crippled with sadness. They would probably even be happy that all of this was happening to me.

I got to the store room and found Florence sitting on the floor waiting for me. She got up immediately she saw me.

“Rose… oh my goodness, what happened?” She held my hand and pulled me to herself.

I sobbed into her shoulders for about twenty minutes. I heard her say something to the rest of the workers in the room. I couldn’t make out what she said, but the next minute, everything was quiet, and all I could hear were my own wails.

I continued until I got tired and felt absolutely weak. Florence lowered me to the ground so I was sitting, and she helped me lean on her for support.
