Chapter 54. A Timely Gift

Florence’s POV

I made my way to the front area of the bar, where I saw a man standing. This had to be the visitor. He had on a black jacket, and he wore shades. He looked more like a security personnel.

I opened the door and walked up to him.

“Good day, sir. I was informed that you asked to see me.”

“Good day. This is for you,” the man said and handed an envelope to me.

I hesitated at first because I wasn’t sure what was inside the envelope and why it was being given to me by this strange man. Eventually, I took it from him, and then he turned and walked away immediately. I stood at the same spot and watched him disappear into the distance, holding the envelope. When he was out of sight, I turned my attention back to the envelope. It was sealed.

I looked around to see if anyone was currently watching me, then I took some steps away from the entrance of the bar to the side, and when I was sure I was alone, I tore the seal off the envelope an
