Chapter 57. Severed Sisterhood
Rose’s POV
Ana and Nathaniel discussed something for a while. They spoke in German, so I couldn’t make out anything that they said.
I was almost happy that they weren’t speaking to me. That meant I wasn’t in the spotlight for now. I waited patiently for Kael to finish his food. He was the only reason I was still sitting at the table. It would be weird for me to leave him with them even though I knew his father would look after him. Ferdinand had left earlier, saying that he had to get some business sorted out. So it was just me, the baby, and two of the people whose presence I was most uncomfortable in.
Eventually, Kael finished his food, to my great delight. I stood up and had him cleaned up. The kitchen employees started to come in to clear the table shortly after that. I lingered around until they were almost done, and when they started to leave, I took my chance.
