Chapter 7. The Penthouse
Rose’s POV
On our way to the penthouse, we passed by many beautiful houses. I just had to look out the window to admire them. There weren’t so many people on the streets. It was more or less an estate, especially because all the houses here were arranged perfectly and had similar characteristics: shape, color, and security. As we passed by them, we weren’t stopped. In fact, most of the guards bowed down slightly as we drove by.
I looked at the person who was taking me to a safe place where I could spend the night. Sitting right next to this man was the most thrilling thing. I was scared of him and, at the same time… full of admiration. I felt like I could trust him when he said I would be safe for the night.
