Chapter 8. Stay for the Night

Rose’s POV

“Should I ask one of my men to join you? Maybe two…”

“No… no, that’s not what I meant.”

“Then what did you mean? Aren’t you satisfied? Is the room not to your liking? If you would rather go back to your sister, then that can surely be arranged.”

“I…”

“Alright then, come along, and I will drop you off at the mansion.” He turned and started walking again, even faster this time around.

Just as he was about to turn the knob on the door, I finally found my voice.

“Stop!” I yelled and immediately cupped my mouth with my hands in shock. What was wrong with me?

I had his attention now, though. He had a surprised look on his face as he stared at me, waiting to hear what I had to say next.

“Please… stay with me for the night.”
