William’s POV

“It’s because that’s who she is. An opportunist and a kidnapper.”

“But why? I thought I was doing everything right.”

“This is not on you, Nathan. And I refuse to allow you to blame yourself for this. Maybe she was jealous of Ivy and thought this was the best way to pay you back. Maybe she was in love and went crazy. Maybe she wanted a ransom if she could get away. Maybe she was just a dog. Whatever her reason was, it’s not on you.”

“Did Ana know about this? Did you ask your wife?”

“Of course I did. She didn’t know about any of this. She couldn’t even believe that her own sister could do this. She sends her regards.”

I leaned back and watched Nathan. He didn’t look too good. He was really shaken up at the thought of losing his son.
