Chapter 81. Cries for Help
Rose’s POV
The minute I woke up and remembered everything that had happened to me recently, I sat up and tried to get out of bed. I realized there were handcuffs on my hands too late, and they bit into my skin a bit.
I sat up and looked around. I wondered whose house I was in. I remembered someone had pulled me out of the vehicle just before it exploded, but I couldn’t remember who it was.
“Help! Someone help me!” I screamed, hoping to attract the attention of the people who had brought me here.
Minutes later, a woman walked in, holding a tray of something. It was food. She came closer and placed the tray on the bed in front of me, then unlocked the handcuffs, freeing my wrists.
“Eat something. You’ll need it so your bruises can heal faster,” she said gently, her tone practical but not unkind.
“Who are you? Were you the one who pulled me from the car?” I asked, trying to sit up despite the soreness in my body.
