"You could have spoken to me about it before making a decision. You know, right?" Lorenzo asked calmly, when I had told him about my plans to give up the child for adoption because of the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy.
I shook my head tiredly, resting on the headboard. "Spoke to you about it? How?"
"I literally left my complimentary card on the bed that day just in case anything happened, because we clearly didn't use condoms." He explained through gritted teeth and clenched fists as though he was trying so hard not to blow up in anger.
I sighed, fatigue swaddling me. "Actually," I started, "I forgot that I had your complimentary card. I'm sorry." I apologised because I couldn't stand arguing with him.
"I get that. So when I started visiting the restaurant frequently, why didn't you talk to me about the pregnancy?"
"Because I had already made up my mind."
