Chapter 42
As I was descending the stairs with my hands grazing the lacquered handrail, my eyes scanned through the parlour below me. It seemed like a new world, the transformation was striking, and I gaped at it in awe. It was picturesque.
The parlour was flooded in a dim light, and the slow Christmas song which played from the speakers at a lower volume, added to the overall cosy ambience. Two fancy Christmas trees stood at the sides of the forty-two inches LED tv that was glued to the intricately designed wall. The centre table had red roses which formed a love shape on it, in the middle was a white envelope that stood out, contrasting against the sharp red, yet, formed a nice blend of colours.
Instinctively, I picked up the envelope, and opened it to see its contents. Inside of it contained a handwritten note from Lorenzo:
