"Voices?" I questioned wearing an ignorant expression. "I was actually speaking to myself." I retorted sharply such that she was taken aback by the vehemence behind my voice.

Her brows arched in doubt, but she had no choice than to believe every word I said. She couldn't come in and search my room without my permission. Even slaves had such rights.

"The mistress wants to see you. Don't make her wait." She informed me and turned around to leave.

"I can't come, Faye. I have to be somewhere." I couldn't tell her that I wanted to go and see Alpha Rolan, or she would get angry and make things worse for me.

My refusal to come caused her to pause her steps. "You dare to defy the mistress's orders? Are you that proud?" She questioned.

"I'm not. Sorry." I slammed the door on her face and hurried into the bathroom in search of Tania. "You can come out now
