Chapter 249
I found myself lying there, consumed by dread and hopelessness. The cellar’s obscurity was suffocating me up until it could ooze around me totally.
Joseph, Uncle Baron and Austin were the thoughts that flooded my mind… Were they searching for me? Did they realize that I was missing?
My eyes were moist at the corners as I thought of my infant whom I had been nurturing within me. What was Isklander’s intention concerning us?
I attempted changing positions but the ropes tied around my wrists and ankles were too tight. Isklander had me under captivity.
Time passed slowly while I heard footsteps from above, muffled voices but no one stepped into the cellar. No one bothered to check on me.
Alone with nothing else except for thoughts, fears now haunted my mind.. They became darker and heavier each second making me feel like drowning in it.
Then came that sound – footsteps from upstairs; heavy and slow with purpose.
