Chapter 268

Felicity POV Continues

“Mommy!” yells Austin as he runs towards me, arms wide open.

Kneeling down to hug him tightly, I am filled with love and gratitude. Joseph also joins in, throwing Austin up in the air and making him giggle.

Maria smiles kindly at me. “Welcome home Felicity; I’ve got everything under control here.”

A wave of relief washes over me as I nod my head in response. With Joseph and Maria supporting me, I am convinced that I can now take time for my recovery.

As we move into the house together, Joseph takes over ensuring that I’m comfortable sitting on the couch with Austin cuddled up next to me. He hands me some tea which is hot against my lips but still tastes really good because its secret ingredient is just his concern for it.

“Rest while I handle things,” he whispers before kissing my forehead.

And it’s because of that kiss that I begin feeling peaceful for first time since the attack; I know that no one else is ever going
