Chapter 97

I have been through a lot since I took In yet my child was still kicking, I could swear it was a female child because they are naturally resilient. Suddenly I hear voices, and I see a light moving towards me. I struggle to sit up, as I see a rowboat approaching. A man and a woman are in the boat, and they're rowing towards me. As they get closer, I can see their faces more clearly. It's a strange woman and she's with a man with kind eyes.

"Are you okay?" the woman asks, her voice filled with concern. I can only nod, my words still caught in my throat.

“Your Uncle alerted us, we'd take you to safety” she added looking at me with great pity.

The man helps me into the boat, and I collapse into a seat.

"We'll take you to safety," the woman says. She pushes the boat off from the riverbank, and the man starts rowing. I close my eyes, letting the gentle rocking of the boat lulled me into a drowsy state. When I open my eyes again, I can see lights on the shore.
