By the time Xavier ensured that Jessica had taken the painkillers and was fast asleep, he left her and went to make sure everything was in order.

Brian informed him that the men were currently locked up in a cell and were already pleading for their lives. They did not know what hit them because there was no way Xavier was planning to go easy on them.

He called Richard to thank him and ask for a favor. Richard was known throughout the city as the man who could get you anything you wanted, whenever you wanted it. He had one of the strongest security networks one could think of.

“Hello, Mr. Delgado,” Richard’s voice rang out when the call connected.

“Hello, Richard. You did very well today,” Xavier said, commending him. He felt strange saying it, but he knew that without Richard, he would still have been unable to find Jessica.
