The ride back was comfortable, and a flow from the earlier vibe lingered between them. The radio was playing a slow song, and both of them just sat quietly while Xavier drove.

The silence was comfortable enough that Jessica found herself falling asleep. Xavier noticed she was asleep when her head jerked slightly. He gently adjusted her head into a more comfortable position, so her neck wouldn’t ache.

After driving for a while, he pulled up to the gate of the mansion. Everywhere was dark and gloomy, and he still needed to go out to meet Jason. He would throw a grown-man tantrum if he did not show up.

Xavier parked his car in front of the main entrance. He did not want to wake Jessica, as she looked to be sleeping soundly. He quietly switched off the car and stepped out, then walked over to the passenger side. He opened the door and gently removed the seatbelt
