“I don’t want you to get the wrong idea. I have no interest in going with you to Aurora Haven. I even have to stay back to set up my restaurant, so…” Jessica trailed off when she saw his expression.

She did not want him to assume, as he had done before, that she was plotting with Dawson for any reason. She hated traveling—probably because she rarely had the chance to travel—but she would not want to go, especially since she had seen his reaction earlier.

“Let’s go convince him that we will go,” Xavier said, ignoring her first statement.

He did not want her to go, but if that were what it took for Dawson to rest, then he would do it.

“Aren’t you listening to me?” Jessica said, stopping him in his tracks.

“Does what we want matter now? Are we going to allow him to travel six hours because of us?” Xavie
