Chapter 29
His eyes moved over to the hand that was wrapped around his wrist, making him turn around so fast only to come face to face with a still-sleeping beauty. His heart crashed. He expected to see her at least looking up at him but not at all yet.
He felt his heart hurt and shatter with all the hopes of this moment. His other hand moved over to her touch and carefully unwrapped her fingers from around his wrist.
He held her soft fingers and knelt down next to the bed, placing his other hand on top of hers and staring at her.
He had lots of things to say, but somehow, they seemed stuck somewhere deep in his throat. He pushed the strands of hair out of her face and laid her hand on his side carefully before standing up back on his feet.
A knock came on the door, and that grabbed his attention. He buried his hands deep in his pocket and stared at the door, which was being opened slowly.
