Chapter 16
“Cancel all my plans. I’ve got to be somewhere else,” he told Adriel.
Adriel couldn’t hide his excitement. Adam was always nose-deep in work, but now he was making a change. Good for Adriel, not so great for Adam, though. He was heading to visit his late fiancée and lover.
“No problem, Boss. I’ve got it covered. You go ahead,” Adriel replied without missing a beat.
What a top-notch assistant he was. If only everyone had someone like that.
Adam left the office, bound for the cemetery, where he stayed for a while. His face was a canvas of darkness; this must have been eating him up. After all, he had lost someone who meant the world to him. He had visited Faith’s resting place many times in the past six months.
He spilled his heart out to his late fiancée, sharing the bitterness of his life. It was time to start moving on, even though it was one tough pill to swallow. His heart ached as if it had been hit by a freight train.
