“Grandpa, let’s get inside. It feels colder than before,” Grace suggested, leading him after he nodded in response. As they entered, her eyes met Adam’s, Grace turned away, avoiding his gaze. Adam sighed, seeing Grace’s flushed face. He’d gone far perhaps from his point of view.
Throughout the evening, Grace deliberately avoided Adam while her brothers were occupied with their work since some sudden work came up. After dinner, as she aimlessly roamed around for a while, she eventually retreated to her room after.
To her surprise, when she entered, Adam was hunched over his laptop, engrossed in his work. Adam tore his gaze from the laptop and looked at Grace who was walking in with tiny steps.
“Please, do not look at me… Do not look at me…” Grace was chanting the sentence again and again.
