Chapter 67
“Thanks, beti! (daughter)” Ibrahim Khan muttered in a tired tone, taking the cup of tea from Ayleen.
He had come early today, and from the moment he entered the estate, Ayleen could visibly see how drenched in sweat he was despite the chilling of the AC. He even refused to eat the dinner, saying he wasn’t feeling well.
After hearing the accident story from Selina, Ayleen had involuntarily taken a step back from the Khans, but she wasn’t a fool not to notice how in the previous months while absence of Murat had relaxed her, it had adversely affected Ibrahim Khan.
Feeling empathetic, she had made herbal tea and taken it to his study room where he was just sitting with his head in his hand. Seeing Ayleen with the tea had really made him smile a bit, appreciative of her.
“You are welcome, Uncle! If you need anything else, let me know!” Ayleen gave him a smile as he nodded, taking a sip of the tea.
