I paced around in my room, walking from one corner to the other. I was very angry. I felt my heart tighten in pain. How could she? How could she let another man, who was not her mate, touch her?

I went to her room this morning to check if she was gone. I had made up my mind to forget about her. Even though it was hard, I’d try; I was only torturing myself, hoping and waiting that she'd be mine someday.
