Chapter 40. Confused Heart

The crowd went silent as they looked up at the three dead bodies hanging on the gallows. I listened to a priest as he mumbled a prayer for the souls of the three. I felt so enraged as I saw some people put down their hats in solemn prayer as if they hadn’t cheered, mocked, and taunted the three.

I couldn’t believe what I saw. I couldn’t believe how they all acted like they didn’t want this to happen! It was sickening!
