Chapter 43. Her Purpose

The night was cold, but the lights from the Hall of the Williams mansion made the whole place lively and vibrant. The front courtyard was decorated with pretty statues made by a famous artist, one of Duchess Hannah’s friends, whom she wanted me to meet. I was a little hesitant about being introduced to her visitors. But with Hannah’s strong persuasiveness and vivacious spirit, there was no way I could say no to her.

The whole place was a little crowded, so Hannah got busy managing her household staff to make the arrangements a little faster so that people could enjoy the refreshments and appetizers before the actual time of the event came.
