Chapter 10

Claire's POV

She let out a big sigh. "I'm sorry, honey, but Emil left because it was too much for him." She let me know.

I looked at the floor and felt my chest tighten. I couldn't believe Emil left without saying goodbye; it hurt. I took a deep breath and rubbed my face with my hands.

"Alpha Hunter is here; he is waiting outside for me to take him back to his territory. I just walked in to say goodbye to everyone." I said with a sad sound in my voice.

Mom started to cry and whimper, and then she wrapped a tight, comforting hug around me.

"Don't worry, honey. Everything will be fine. I'm sure he'll let you visit or let us visit you." She was trying to make me feel better about the whole thing by reassuring me. Even though we both knew I was screwed, that made me love her even more.

I looked at Adel and went to give her a hug. She started quietly crying, so I rubbed her back. try to make her feel better.

"Don't worry, Adel. I'm fine." I said,
