Chapter 47

Claire's POV

I took a deep breath and thought about whether I wanted to tell him that the meeting had made me feel uncomfortable. "He walked into the kitchen and asked me to talk to him."

He furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes. "Is that all?"

"Yes." I wasn't making things up when I told him that was all that happened. But I left out the part where Demon gave me shivers down my spine and made me wonder how bad that man was.

Hunter nodded and got into bed, so I did the same. But I couldn't sleep because all I could think about was the conversation I overheard and the intense conversation I had with Demon. Everything about him has changed now, from the way he looks at me to the way he moves.
