Chapter 56. Leave the Past Behind

Talitha’s POV

Darkness called unto me and I listened, walking to a dark path with no end. The walks didn’t slow down for hours until I heard a distinct voice calling out to me with so much passion and zeal.

“Who was that?” I wondered, disregarding the call to take another step when the voice grew louder.

“Talitha.”

No this isn’t true. He is dead. I saw his lifeless body carried out by a guard. How did he escape the hands of death or were my fantasies playing out in real life.

I felt someone holding onto me. I couldn’t make out the complete words because the voice was low but the mention of a child had my pulse running. My eyes flickered to my stomach but I couldn’t see it.

I ran my palm over my stomach and felt the bump. I’m with child. A child is living inside of me but how do we make it out of here?

I dragged my feet towards a path that showed a light- a light only but where it leads to I don’t know or the danbres in it.
