I could tell by the unenthusiastic look on Amara’s face that she was sick of the sight of me. I was definitely tired of all this back and forth with someone I didn’t wish to associate with. She hadn’t even offered me a drink and as we stood in Amara’s kitchen, although I felt slightly intimidated by her fierce gaze.
