Chapter 40. The Deal

Liam’s POV

Without letting Celeste or Julian know, I had gone back to the Stone household. I needed to gather some information, even if it meant confronting the queen bitch Evelyn herself.

I knocked on the door, taking in a deep breath as I decided what I would say to confront Evelyn Stone. I had dressed up for the occasion, donning my favourite blue striped suit. I adjusted the tie accordingly as I caught my reflection in the frosted glass of the door. Noticing the shifting of a silhouette behind the door, I gathered my thoughts as quickly as I could.

The door opened and I was disappointed to see it wasn’t Evelyn, the person I had hoped to answer the most. Instead I got the familiar eager eyes of Savannah Stone. I felt my stomach turn.
