Elsie POV

Tears blurred my vision as I stared at nothing in particular. I wrapped my arms around myself, shivering slightly from the cold.

I had clearly seen the glowing red thread that connected them and staring at it made my insides churn. A tear escaped, streaming down my cheek.

“Pathetic” I wiped my tears and turned to Amber who had appeared behind me.

“What?”

“Standing out here in this freezing cold, sulking like some tragic heroine in a romance novel won’t change anything”

I let out a shaky chuckle.

She came to stand beside me. “I understand how you feel. I’ve been there”

I turned to her. “Really”

“When Cedric found his fated mate, it was pure torture
