Chapter 29

Lukas POV

She stood in front of me protectively, her eyes blazing with fury, but there was something else in those eyes.

“Stay back. I’ll handle this” I assured. She remained still. I wasn’t sure if she heard me and pretended not to.

She sucked in a deep breath and threw her head back. Her mesmerizing emerald eyes had turned glowing red. Every strand of her jet black hair turned shiny silver right before my eyes.

The ground shook and cracked faintly. There was an obvious shift in the atmosphere.

She stretched out her hand, muttering some words that I could not make out.

The gun jerked out of Ethan’s grip, floating in the air. The cold metal twisted and fell on the ground, useless.

“You..... what are you?” Ethan panicked, taking two steps back.

A strange glowing mark appeared on the back of her neck.

It was orange in colour with a tinge of black. The brightness of the mark flickered every second.
