Lukas POV
I ascended the stairs, watching a maid return from the bedroom with a tray of untouched food.
Mia had shut herself off from the rest of the world and had refused to eat.
I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck. How many days has it been? Five? Six? I had lost count.
All that mattered was she was grieving but so was I.
“Mia” I knocked but received no answer so I pushed it open and there she was, her back turned to me, her body stiff. I knew she wasn’t sleeping.
“Mia” I called again, trying to keep my voice calm and hide the frustration in them. “You’ve been like this for days. You can’t keep doing this”
All I got was cold silence. I wasn’t surprised.
“You know you are not the only one hurting” I said, frustration slipping through the cracks.
“Leave me alone” she spoke finally, her voice low and throaty.
“What has happened cannot be changed”
