Raya’s POV

“As if,” scoffed Lord Christopher.

“I shall present her now, can the Honorable Lady Matilda come in?” said Thallus.

Matilda walked in that instance and she all but looked graceful. It was a relief to see her smile as she looked up to meet Thallus’s eye. I was glad she looked well. I turned to look at Thallus, he had a proud smile on his face as Matilda took a bow in court.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Her Destined Highness,” she said in a strong voice.

“You are most welcome,” returned Thallus.

Turning my attention to Lord Christopher I could tell that he was beyond angry. His face looked uglier than usual and it was a joy indeed to see that things were not going as he planned them to. I hoped that in future, Thallus would have more courage to flaunt some of Lord Christopher’s ill desires.

After court was dismissed I saw that Lord Christopher was stalling so he could talk to Thallus but Lord Tibet dragged him
