Chapter 29
Raya’s POV
I said a quick prayer to the moon goddess as I thought back to the plan I had formed with the driver. It had to work somehow. I thought it was a little foolish of the driver to risk his life for strangers whom he barely knew. However, it was nice to meet someone who just had a heart of gold, like Keenan and Lady Tamar. If the world was full of kinder people, it would be a good place to live in.
“How long before we get to the border?” I asked, rapping on the partition that separated the driver from us.
“About thirty minutes,” came the reply.
“Thank you,” I said, and while I brainstormed on what to do next, he said, “Lady Tamar expected this.”
“What?” I asked, not expecting him to say anything and wondering if he had seen the posters too and would turn us in for the find money.
