Chapter 31

Raya’s POV

I held onto my sister’s hand as tight as I can. Although I had assured her I had not assured myself. I was scared too and a part of me wanted to give up to fate but I knew must not. I had to continue running. If we stopped now we would not make it out of this wretched place and dusk must not meet us there.

I collapsed in relief when I saw the clear sky above us. We had made it out in time although we were still in a forest we had come out of the forest of the shadows of death. I saw Dana loosen up from the tension. We had made it out and we were alive and sane. I hugged her and we cried in each other’s arms, it felt good to be alive.

“I am never going there again,” she said softly.

“Me too,” I said smiling from relief.

“I didn’t know I could miss the skies,” she said looking up at the orange tinged sky, dusk was already calling for night to come.
